Cotton Tree freetown

Cotton Tree is a historic kapok tree, formerly revered by British Black Loyalists, who had won their freedom during the American War of Independence. The tree has spiritual value for many locals today as well, with some leaving offerings in honor of their ancestors at the roots. The wide, spreading canopy is a must-see for tourists.
