Ankasa is known for having the richest botanical diversity in Ghana, due to its high yearly rainfall. A beautiful park, there are a number of spots that are particularly attractive to tourists. One of these is the “Big Tree,” which is said to be the largest tree in Ghana, with a trunk circumference of twelve meters. Other sites include a waterfall, and the “Bamboo Cathedral,” which is not associated with religion, but rather is a fascinating architectural work composed of bamboo. The bamboo plants bend and criss-cross in order to form a dome that is reminiscent of a church.
